Some of the important features of the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom.

DJI Mavic 2 Zoom features allow for rapid deployment in complex / crowded environments. It’s unique zoom lens provides excellent stand-off capabilities.

  • DJI’s latest mission and control software – DJI Go 4.
  • 3-axis stabilized camera mount (gimbal).
  • 12 MP sensor with 8-bit color depth and interchangeable filters.
  • 4k video at 30fps results in great cinematographic results.
  • Mechanical zoom for 2x magnification to allow safe positioning away from subjects when needed.
  • Using GPS/GLONASS for precision flight (manual and autonomous).
  • 25min. average flight time.
  • Speeds exceeding 40 MPH.
  • 360 degree advanced collision avoidance system makes flying in tight spaces safe.

The drone was obtained from a local Pawn Shop, and it is in excellent condition, in spite of it’s age and being in “used” condition.  Along with the standard equipment, I also received several spare batteries, portable charger, and compact travel bag.

Although the travel bag is nice, a more rugged solution was necessary for use on construction sites, or when traveling several hours to a shooting location.  To better protect the investment, I’m using a hard case modified specifically for the Mavic 2 line of drones.

Operating the Mavic 2 is further simplified by use of a foldable table holder which attaches to the DJI remote using the same method as a mobile phone.  It’s very convenient, and makes mission planning simpler that trying to use the smaller format of a cell phone.

This addition to the fleet will vastly improve capabilities and the quality of photos I’m able to deliver to clients.

Watch for more photos and videos in the coming weeks.
